As Nelson Mandela once said, “Everyone can rise above their circumstances and achieve success if they are dedicated to and passionate about what they do”, and that’s exactly what every right-thinking Ugandan can currently see with NUP and its dozens of MPs who recently made it to the August House.
The MPs are not in the house for snoring mission as Museveni’s NRM does, but the young and dedicated patriots are busy fixing the mess inflicted by Museveni’s crumbling dictatorship for over the last 35 years while revamping the welfare of oppressed Ugandans regardless of their political belief.
NUP personnel emerged better than NRM ones while abandoning vehicles with exorbitant prices and rather opted to drive in less than affordable cars, and invested their vehicle’s cash in building public hospitals, schools, and youth empowerment schemes among other projects meant to transform the livelihoods of residents from their respective constituencies. This is while NRM MPs remained fixed for luxury cars and kept begging for incentives to enrich themselves!
Secondly, NUP’s MPs are currently busy reaching out to millions of starving Ugandans countrywide with relief food and other assistance while their NRM counterparts are dormant amid the ravaging Covid-19 pandemic.
NUP’s MPs stellar performance hints at a Uganda Empya this country would be if President Bobi Wine was in the statehouse as the very same MPs heed the president’s advice that resonates around “selfless devotion” to the country, and Ugandans. That’s what the dictatorship robbed us of, a sound and strong leadership.
“It is the oppressor who defines the nature of the struggle, and the oppressed is often left no recourse but to use methods that mirror those of the oppressor,” President Bobi wine recently said.
There is still room for a new Uganda with NUP and President Bobi Wine as the oppressed Ugandans are still yearning for democratic changes.
